Hollingwells, Edderton is where our journey began. Developed with passion, dedication, and a genuine love for horses, the yard has grown into a welcoming and versatile equestrian facility at the heart of the highlands.
The site is home to a large international-sized outdoor arena, alongside practical stabling and horse handling facilities designed to support a wide range of equestrian activities. We also offer a small office/learning space, an on site cafe/Kitchen unit, and a decking area where visitors can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Today, Edderton is focused on providing a safe, supportive, and dynamic environment for learning, personal development, and wellbeing. We are committed to creating opportunities for individuals and organisations to experience the positive impact that horses can have on physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Whether through education, therapeutic activities, or simply spending time around horses, we invite you to join us in discovering and celebrating the remarkable benefits that equines can bring to our lives. Please see our alternative sessions we offer here.
At the beginning of 2025, Team Hollingwells were delighted to take over the equestrian facilities at Dunglass steading on the Brahan estate, near Dingwall. Since then, we have invested significant time and effort into upgrading and enhancing the site, creating a welcoming and modern environement for both visitors and horses.
Our facilities now provide livery accommodation for up to 16 horses with a combination of comfortable stabling and spacious individaul grass turnout. We are also proud to offer excellent riding facilities, including a large indoor as well as an outdoor arena, allowing riding activities to continue throughout the year. Aswell as being able to enjoy the vast grounds of the estate and all it has to offer through our varied trekking activities.
The acquisition of our new yard has enabled us to bring all of our riding lessons and trekking experiences together in one location and available all year round. This has not only improved the experience for our reqular clients but has also allowed us to welcome a wider range of visitors and holidaymakers looking to enjoy the beautiful countryside of the highlands on horseback.
Whether you are an experienced rider or looking to enjoy a memorable first time equestrian experience in the highlands, we look forward to welcoming you at Hollingwells @ Brahan. Please see our lessons page here, and our trekking page here.
At Hollingwells Equestrian, we are fortunate to have a dedicated and passionate team who help make us one of the Highlands; most welcoming equestrian destinations.
Managed by Richard and Charlotte Pumphrey, alongside a small and committed team of staff, we pride ourselves on offering a truly personal service. This ethos allows us to get to know each client individually, ensuring that your interests, goals and requirements are fully understood and supported.
Whether you are visting for riding lessons, trekking, training, wellbeing activities, or simply to enjoy time with horses, our aim is always the same: to provide the highest standard of care, support, and experience possible. We believe that every visit should be enjoyable, memorable, and tailored to your needs, and we work hard to ensure that your time with us is the very best it can be.
Our horses are far more than just part of our business - they are at the very heart of everything we do at Hollingwells Equestrian. They are our partners, our teachers, and the foundation upon which we have built our equestrian community.
We are incredibly fortunate to care for a diverse and talented herd, ranging from 11hh ponies to 16hh cobs and thoroughbreds. Each horse has its own unique personality, strengths, and story, and everyone of them is valued and cared for as an individual.
Over the years, we have carefully developed our equine team with the aim of providing the right horse for every rider. Whether you are a complete beginner, a nervous rider, or a more experienced equestrian, we strive to match you with a horse that will help you build confidence, develop your skills, and enjoy your time in the saddle.
The welfare of our horses is always our highest priority, and we believe that their happiness, trust, and wellbeing are key to creating exceptional experiences for everyone who visits us.
